This class is designed to teach the athlete how to become a more explosive, powerful, and elusive runner. With this, there are 4 major concepts fo rthe athlete that will be gone over in the class:
1) Dynamic Warm-up: Getting the athlete ready for competition in a non-static fashion, simply by moving kinestically through space.
2) Form Run Techniques: Taking the athlete's natural gait and breaking it down systematically to make him/her more efficient with each step.
3)The Strength Component: which is needed to assist the athlete with generating more power in their 1st Step and beyond.
4) Plyometrics and Agility: which is a very important component for the athlete, in terms of controlling that explosiveness and then utiliziing and controlling it in a dynamic way so the individual becomes an overall better athlete.

The goals of the periodization workshop series are to assist the trainer/conditioning coach in making decisions on a long-term training plan that encompasses goals and objectives designed systematically to progress the athlete from one phase to the final stages accounting for certain variables, such as frequency, intensity, time, and type (F.I.T.T.), in order to progress the client/athlete to reach ultimate success.
Although a very fascinating and rewarding experience, it takes time, work-experience, and good solid planning, to progress the athlete in an efficient manner in meeting particular goals and objectives. Whether, you are getting your client prepared for a particular sporting event, or that special day-- wedding/25th year reunion. Periodization is needed for every trainer.
Some of the things we attempt to tackle in this class are teaching trainers/specialist how to adjust for the F.I.T.T.
principles based on their driving motivations for exercise or their particular sport; common conceps used in-season vs.
off-season workouts; prehabbing or rehabbing injuries for common athletes; or proper progression overload techniques that are necessary for proper growth and progression.
Most trainers have an idea on how they are going to go about training a particular client/athlete, but don't account for certain time paremeters, intensity modules, or just common practices needed to push the client in an efficient and effective manner. With this class we begin teaching the trainer's certain baseline concepts, common shared practices and procedures used by top professionals in the industry, and certain modalities to help the trainer, as well as, the client to be successful to reach optimal health.
